One code. Thirty different cards.
The teacher puts a four-letter code on the board and reads the questions out. Everybody types the same code and their own name, and gets their own card. Nothing connects to anything — it works with the Wi-Fi off.
For the teacher
The only whole-class game here that needs no connection whatsoever: a card is worked out from the code plus the student's name, so thirty devices produce thirty different cards with nothing to pair and nothing to drop out. A student who reloads, or arrives late, types the same two things and gets the same card back. Your screen is the caller — space for the next question, R to reveal the answer once the thinking time is up. Two things worth knowing: the deck is drawn from the whole bank rather than from any one card, so a card genuinely might not hold the answer (that is the tension); and a cell only counts if it answers the question you are asking NOW, so marking a cell for an earlier call is marked wrong and counted. Students tap Next call each time you read one, which keeps them in step without a connection.
